Santa Delivers EC145 to Cook Children's Teddy Bear Transport

December 22, 2009

The Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas has received its newly-equipped EC145, which arrived with a very special passenger.

Santa Claus was on board to help deliver this state-of-the-art rotorcraft to Cook Children’s Teddy Bear Transport, one of the nation’s largest pediatric transport programs. The new helicopter will allow Cook Children’s to take advantage of the most modern technology available to assist in transporting children in their time of need.

The EC145 will join ambulance and fixed-wing airlift support services also provided by Teddy Bear Transport.  It offers more room than the current helicopter being used by the organization – allowing more room for patient care, as well as the ability for a parent to ride along with the child.

This EC145 was purchased from American Eurocopter, the nation’s leading provider of rotorcraft to the emergency medical services industry. American Eurocopter originally delivered it to Cook Children’s Medical Center in August 2009 – and the rotorcraft returned today from Air Methods, where it was outfitted with the latest equipment and safety features.
