Pilot Training
American Eurocopter provides Pilot Training that is tailored to the individual needs
of our customers. We provide Initial Transition Courses, as well as Recurrency Courses.
The courses are not designed to teach basic aviation fundamentals, nor do they qualify
pilots to act as pilot in command. It is a training prerequisite that all pilots attending
ground or flight training possess a minimum of a Private Helicopter Pilot Certificate and a
valid medical certificate. Training courses are not approved by the
FAA,
nor any foreign
agencies issuing Type Ratings on Pilot Certificates.
Transition Ground School covers the following subjects; Aircraft Systems, Emergency Procedures,
Autopilot (when applicable), Cockpit Displays and Controls, Performance Planning and Charts,
Weight and Balance, a Review of the Aircraft Flight Manual, and Preflight/Postflight Checks.
Pilots will be given a closed-book final examination on helicopter limitations and overall
course content and must achieve a score of 70% in order to receive a Certificate of Completion.
In order to receive a Recurrent Training Certificate from American Eurocopter, pilots must
have completed the Initial Transition Training at our facility, Eurocopter, or a Eurocopter
subsidiary.
Off-Site Pilot Training
To make things convenient for you, the Training Center offers off-site training in your
helicopter. We will send a Flight Instructor to the location of your choice to conduct
Transition or Recurrency courses.
Training Prerequisites, Flight Training
As all the courses at American Eurocopter are transition or recurrency courses, we do
not teach aviation fundamentals. Therefore, it is requested that all pilots attending Pilot
Ground School possess a helicopter license.
All pilots wishing to complete flight transition training must have a private helicopter
license as a minimum, and a valid medical certificate.
