Maintenance Training
While textbook knowledge is important, we believe that instruction received in the classroom,
and work performed on the actual helicopter components is critical to ensure complete training.
All maintenance courses at the Training Center are designed to experience shop work first hand,
with actual on-the-job exercises. The amount of shop work scheduled for a particular course is
determined by the level of training required and the complexity of the component.
The Airframe Field Maintenance Courses are designed to teach Aircraft Maintenance Engineers/Technicians
how to maintain the helicopter for intermediate inspections, in accordance to the Aircraft Maintenance
Manual. The Maintenance Refresher Courses are designed to provide recurrent training on helicopter maintenance.
Course acceptance is based on the requirement that the student must possess one of the following:
- Certificate as an A&P Mechanic or Aircraft Maintenance Technician
- Canadian approved Aircraft Maintenance Engineer certificate
- One year of experience as an active mechanic on helicopters (Commercial/Military)
- Three years of general experience as a commercial or military aircraft mechanic
At the completion of the course, a closed book final examination will be given and the technician
must achieve a score of 70% in order to receive a Certificate of Completion.
Off- Site Maintenance Training
To make things convenient for you, the Training Center offers off-site training. We will send a
Maintenance Instructor to the location of your choice, to conduct Airframe Field Maintenance or
Maintenance Refresher Courses.
Maintenance Training, Training Prerequisites
Because all the courses at American Eurocopter are transition courses, we do not teach aviation
